Celebrating You.
“The stories in this report are a testament to the unstoppable spirit of New Yorkers.
For every challenge 2025 brought to our region, there was a community working together to address it—neighbors, nonprofits, foundations, businesses, and civic leaders sharing resources and expertise to drive change.
“For every challenge 2025 brought to our region, there was a community working together to address it”
The pages ahead celebrate these partnerships. You’ll read about how our dedicated donors helped emergency food programs reach more New Yorkers during November’s SNAP cuts, how our grants supported families organizing for universal child care, and how we brought nonprofits together to expand services for immigrants and LGBTQ+ New Yorkers.
Amy Freitag, who stepped down from her role as Trust president in May 2026, championed these partnerships. She helped us strengthen our relationships with donors and nonprofits and connect with more New Yorkers across all five boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester as she led us into our second century of service to the region.
Amy’s legacy of openness and collaboration shines through each of the stories that follow, and we’re excited to carry that forward together under the leadership of our general counsel and interim president, Carrie Trowbridge.
I hope you will also see yourself in the accomplishments this report highlights, none of which would have been possible without this remarkable community we share. Thank you for being a part of it.”
