Biography
David Okorn oversees local grantmaking and provides personalized philanthropic services to donors to help them support effective nonprofits that speak to their charitable passions and address vital community needs. His team deeply understands the challenges and opportunities facing Long Islanders and has longstanding relationships with the nonprofits and policymakers working to strengthen the community.
Previously, David was senior vice president of development and external relations at the Viscardi Center, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of adults and children with disabilities; director of community relations at KeySpan; and executive director of the KeySpan Foundation.
David has a B.S. and M.S. in business administration and energy management from the New York Institute of Technology - Old Westbury, serves on the board of directors at the Long Island Volunteer Center and the Better Business Bureau Foundation, and is a member of the Long Island State Park Recreation and Historic Preservation Commission. Dave lives in Hauppauge with his wife of 35 years, Martina.
