Biography
Christian Terry-Taylor supports grantmaking across portfolios that include human justice, democracy, gender equity, arts education, early childhood education, education, and scholarships.
Christian is pursuing a Master of Public Administration as a David Bohnett Fellow at NYU Wagner, specializing in advocacy and political action. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology and Africana studies from Morehouse College, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Before joining The Trust, Christian served in the City of New York’s Deputy Mayor’s Office of Public Safety as a NYC Urban Fellow and later as an intergovernmental affairs manager in the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. In these roles, he coordinated policy and operations across the criminal justice system, from law enforcement through reentry.
He has also contributed to restorative justice initiatives and college access efforts through his work at NYU’s Center for Violence and Recovery and the Academic Achievement Program. Christian is passionate about advancing policy solutions at the intersection of gender-based violence, education, and economic mobility. Originally from Hempstead, New York, by way of West Virginia and Alabama, Christian spends his free time writing spoken word, poetry, and short stories.
