Biography
Karen Chia works closely with The Trust’s donor-advised fund holders to help them carry out their charitable giving and take advantage of The Trust’s many offerings.
Before joining The Trust, Karen managed Carnegie Hall's Friends membership program, made up of more than 10,000 donors. Prior to that, Karen was a marketing associate with the Historic House Trust of NYC and a web content manager for the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation.
Karen graduated cum laude from Wellesley College and received her M.S. in industrial and organizational psychology from Baruch College at the City University of New York.
A native of New York City, Karen grew up playing the violin and double bass in youth orchestras in Queens and Long Island. Though she no longer plays an instrument, Karen is an avid concert- and theatergoer who frequently takes advantage of the city's unmatched arts and cultural scene.
