Help Students Succeed Through Our Scholarship Program

Launched in 2019, our Scholarship Program connects donors’ generosity with the students who need it most—many of whom are first in their families to attend college. By creating a named fund, you can help cover not just tuition, but the other essentials that make higher education possible: laptops, textbooks, transportation, and more.

Through trusted partnerships with dozens of youth development, education, and arts nonprofits, The Trust identifies and supports students who have demonstrated exceptional perseverance and promise. Many recipients come from under-resourced communities or are immigrants or the children of immigrants. Many also have experienced housing instability and involvement with the foster care and justice systems.

To date, we’ve awarded scholarships to hundreds of New York City students pursuing vocational training, community college, and four-year degrees. With your support, we can reach even more—fueling their goals, their futures, and the communities they uplift.

Unlike scholarships tied to specific schools, our Scholarship Program offers a broader, more flexible way to make a lasting impact.

Can I Apply for a Scholarship?

Because we typically partner with nonprofit educational institutions that are best able to identify promising scholarship candidates, most of our application processes are initiated by invitation only. However, the Armenian scholarships below do accept applications. For more information about applying for scholarships, please contact Kay Holmes at kgordon@thenytrust.org or (212) 686-1065.

Armenian Scholarship Program

The Trust’s Armenian Scholarship program is open to full-time undergraduate students of Armenian descent attending school in the U.S. whose families live in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. This program is made possible by the Hazaros Tabakoğlu; Hagop, Arousiag, and Arpy Kashmanian; and Anni P. Nalbandian Memorial scholarship funds.
