We’re being honored!

The New York Community Trust – Long Island is being recognized by three prominent Long Island organization in 2015. We are proud to announce that David Okorn our vice president and The Trust – Long Island have been honored as:

Corporate Citizenship Award, Long Island Business News

The New York Community Trust – Long Island has been selected for recognition in Long Island Business News’ Corporate Citizenship Awards program for significant dedication to the community. The Trust – Long Island was presented with a Corporate Citizen of the Year Award on September 10, 2015 at the Crest Hollow Country Club.

Caumsett Foundation “State of the Mind” award

The Caumsett Foundation is honoring David Okorn and The Trust – Long Island at its State of Mind event on October 3, 2015, for support and work on important environmental issues affecting native grasslands.

The Gilbert Tilles Award, Association of Fund Raising Professionals

The Gilbert Tilles Award is given to an organization, business, foundation or special individual or family that exhibits the unique qualities that further the goals of philanthropy. The award recipient demonstrates leadership in motivating others to participate in philanthropic endeavors and has personally committed time, effort and financial resources to one or more charities. The Trust’s Long Island vice president, David M. Okorn was chosen as an honoree for his strategic and innovative leadership at the Foundation. His efforts make a tremendous difference to the quality of life on Long Island. The honorees are given awards at Philanthropy Day on November 3rd. They reflect the many different areas where the not-for-profits work, from environmental preservation to social service agencies to educational and health care institutions.
