Program goal

 

 We support programs that broaden access to the arts for all and provide professional development opportunities for artists from diverse backgrounds.

 

Grants are made to

 

  • Post-baccalaureate education and training fellowships to promising young, economically disadvantaged artists that will help them make the transition to professional careers.
  • Programs that bring to life the rich cultural history of Germany, including scholarships, research, and programs that promote Germanic arts, folklore, language, literature, and music.

Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, Inc.

to support a professional development and mentoring program for four emerging string musicians.

Fine Arts Orchestral Society of Yonkers

for a free concert featuring the works of Beethoven.

Hoff-Barthelson Music School

to support instruction in and performance of German music during week-long music festivals in 2024 and 2025.

Taconic Opera

for three performances of Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss.

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival

to support five fellows over the course of two summer seasons.

Picture House

for the 2024 German Film Festival.

Downtown Music at Grace

to support free noonday concerts in White Plains.

Hudson Chorale

to support three concerts in 2024 highlighting German Composers.

Bethany Arts Community

to support private studio space, housing and the opportunity to work in community with Bethany staff and resident artists for four months. 

Charis

to present a performance of a Bach oratorio in German.

Westchester Oratorio Society

to support a concert featuring works from four Germanic composers.

Clay Art Center

to support two year-long fellowships for emerging artists.

Arts Westchester

to present an exhibition of photography by two German-born artists living in Westchester called “Importing Bauhaus.”

Hudson Valley Singers

to support performances of music by Strauss and Schumann.

New Westchester Symphony Orchestra

to support a series of Germanic concerts.
