Improve Life for Older Adults

Our region has much to offer, but we need services and advocacy to make sure older New Yorkers can take advantage of these opportunities.

Together we can:

  • Make sidewalks, transit, and local businesses safer and more accessible.
  • Promote health and wellness.
  • Help older adults age at home.
  • Bring art classes and other offerings to senior centers in low-income neighborhoods.
  • Train home care workers to better assist aging clients with specialized needs.

And much more …

My family values the work The Trust does on our behalf in these areas of education and the environment. It helps turn our interest into action.

Bill Witkin, donor-advised fund founder

In philanthropy, I think it's important to put your dollars where your values are. It takes resources to bring good into the world, so we should commit to causes that are important to us and support them.

With The Trust, my wife and I will help make New York better for the next generation.

Jonathan Shoemaker, film producer, donor-advised fund founder

Over the years I have discovered that everyone involved with The Trust—donors, staff, and grantees—shares my passion for the city, its people, and for making it a better place today and tomorrow.

Charlynn Goins, former chair, The New York Community Trust

The Trust does an excellent job of vetting charities to make sure that they are sound and fill the donor's purpose.
